Anita was born in Baltic, Michigan on May 19, 1942 the daughter of the late Julius and Elsa (Knuuttila) Andreini, and has resided in the Davison area the last forty-nine years. She was joined in marriage to William Ahearn on August 7, 1974. Anita was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was an active parishioner having sung in the Choir, served on the Worship Commission and the Parish Council, and attended numerous events and church activities. Anita worked in insurance for Stubbs and Christensen Insurance Agency for many years and for several other agencies before her retirement.

Anita was proud of her Italian and Finnish heritage and continually found ways to celebrate both. A native of the Upper Peninsula, she never missed an opportunity to go “up home” to visit friends and family. She was a talented writer and voracious reader who instilled curiosity, love of learning, love of music, the arts, nature and the outdoors in her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and loyal friend; in fact, her friends were a part of her family. An attentive listener, she loved hearing everyone’s stories and thoughtfully commented on their Facebook posts and photos. Her lightness of being, gentle ways and loving kindness will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of forty-seven years William, her children: David Hathaway, Michael Hathaway, and Christine (Andrew) Karow. Her step-children: David Ahearn (David Hugg), Steve Ahearn, Andy Ahearn, and Julie (Rick) Shimmin. Also surviving are her twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother Bernie Andreini, and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Therese, grandson Nathan Jae Ahearn and nephew B.J. Please share your condolences at
