Dolores Dulzo

DULZO, Dolores “Lorrie” Ann – of Davison, MI, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM-12 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Lorrie’s memory.

Lorrie was born in Detroit, MI on January 11, 1927, daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Anne (Baenziger) Dulzo. Her childhood and young adult years were spent growing up in the Roseville, Romeo and Rochester, MI communities. After graduating from high school, Lorrie went on to study and pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. The majority of those 40(+) years as an RN were spent at Ascension/Crittenton hospital in Rochester, MI, caring for the needs of patients and staff. For most of her adult life she resided in the Ortonville/Oxford area, where in her spare time she loved to garden, travel, knit and enjoyed many outdoor sports and activities, especially golf. After retiring, she moved to Davison MI. In the past few years, she has been spending time with neighbors, family and friends playing cards, completing countless jigsaw puzzles and riding her stationary bike.

Lorrie is survived by her dear friend of 54 years, Jackie Haxer; 3 nieces, Kathy (Dempsey) Smith, Lori Filips and Amy Biskner; 3 nephews, Dave (Anne) Sheldon, Larry (Deneice) Sheldon and Greg (Pam) Sheldon; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; 22 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anne Dulzo Sr.; brother, Charles “Chuck” Dulzo Jr. and his wife, Peg; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” (Dulzo) Sheldon and her husband, Richard; nephew, Jim Dulzo; 3 nieces, Vicki (Jeff) Bulman, Karen (Michael) Muro and Lisa Sheldon and great-niece, Jennifer Smith.
