James Migan

MIGAN, James – of Davison, age 86, passed away on January 16, 2023 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Monday, January 23, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by Davison American Legion Post #267. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Lawrence Seminary, 301 Church St., Mount Calvary, WI 53057.

James was born in Detroit, MI on April 23, 1936, son of the late Corneilius and Hazel (McCarty) Migan. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. James married Geraldine Kaminski on August 16, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan. Jim graduated from University of Detroit in 1959 and then taught English in his early professional years. From there he went on to a very successful career in business as a Credit Manager and as a Management Consultant. Notably, Jim never had to APPLY for a job. He was invited to take job positions with several colleagues throughout his professional career. Jim was very active with his church communities, he was an avid golfer, and enjoyed wood working projects [T McG]. He also enjoyed reading and puzzles. He always enjoyed any opportunity to gather with family, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife, Geri; children, Kathleen Migan, Colleen (Brian) Schiefer, Nicholas (Donna) Migan, Monica (Michael) Burel, Amy (Norman) Prange and Neal (Tamara) Migan; 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many other loving family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Neil, and his sister, Margaret (Stoy).
