Johnny Martin Arnold, age 75, of Lapeer/Imlay City, formerly of Troy and Huntsville, Kentucky, died Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was born December 28, 1946 in Greenville, Kentucky, to Prentice and Grace (Vaughn) Arnold.
As a child, Johnny attended a one room school in Huntsville, Kentucky…he had wonderful memories of his time there. His family moved to Michigan when he was older and he attended Highland Park High School. Johnny married Paulette Garland, on January 12, 1968 in Ferndale, Michigan. Mr. Arnold was dedicated truck driver for Metalmite Corporation in Rochester for over 40 years. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Johnny enjoyed dancing, bowling and music in general. Johnny loved gospel music, country music and especially all Elvis Presley music. Mr. Arnold had a great voice and was always singing along to his favorite songs. He truly loved time spent with family, his grandsons were his pride and joy…he had a way of always making them laugh and smile. Johnny was always taking care of and worrying about others.
Johnny is survived by his children: Marcus Arnold of St. Clair Shores and Jennifer (Tom) Trudell of Attica; grandsons: Bradon Arnold of St. Clair Shores, Thomas Trudell of Attica and Kyle Arnold of St. Clair Shores; brother: Gene (Carol) Arnold of Rochester Hills; former daughter-in-law: Anne Arnold of Macomb, MI and beloved dog: Coco. He was preceded in death by his wife: Paulette Arnold; parents: Prentice and Grace Arnold; and brothers: Gary and Alan Arnold.
A memorial gathering will be 1-5PM Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. A funeral mass to celebrate both Mr. and Mrs. Arnold’s lives will be held 1PM Monday, August 1, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. The family has entrusted Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
