CISTULLI, Joseph – of Ocala, FL, age 66, passed away on August 29, 2023. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison Michigan, 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski will be celebrating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: To Write Love On Her Arms in Joe’s memory.
Joseph was born in New Britain, CT on June 20, 1957, son of the late Joseph and Rose Marie Cistulli. Joe learned to play many musical instruments from his parents while growing up. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1976. He moved to California in the early 80’s where he sold cars and enjoyed his youth. He stopped in Michigan in 1998 on his way back to Connecticut where he met his wife and raised his two children. Joe stayed in Michigan for 25 years before moving to Florida. He continued to work in sales until he had multiple surgeries and retired early. This allowed Joe to spend more time with his family whom he loved deeply; putting together puzzles, playing Texas Holdom, cribbage, spades, euchre along with one of his favorite activities, golf. He loved the N.Y. Giants, Boston Red Sox, UCONN basketball and Frank Sinatra. The neighbors could hear him cheering or yelling at the TV depending on how his teams were performing. He was very proud of his Italian heritage; He had an old soul and a great appreciation for music.
Joseph is survived by his two children; Isabella (Brendan McGalliard) Cistulli and Dante Cistulli; his sister, Donna Cistulli, brother, Chris Cistulli and the mother of his children, Nancy Moore, along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rose Cistulli and his brother, Michael Cistulli.
