Julie was born on June 16, 1944 into a loving Catholic family on Jackson’s East Side. She graduated from Saint John’s High School in 1962. After pursuing further education at Eastern Michigan University, she began her lifelong passion through her teaching career. She is best known for her many years serving as director and teacher at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Pre-Kindergarten. In addition to her passion for teaching, Julie’s creative spirit could be clearly seen in her artistic abilities. Her artwork will continue to be cherished in the households of friends and family for years to come.

The forefront of Julie’s life was her family and her faith in God. Quite possibly her favorite role in life was “Grandma Julie”. Her five grandchildren will remember her dearly along with her signature line “love you, miss you, kiss you”. For Julie, “family” extended far past blood relations. This is evident in her many cherished relationships, notably in her high school girl’s group who have met monthly for years. Additionally, Julie’s frequent volunteerism greatly impacted the community at places like local schools, Queens Parish and the Jackson Food Pantry.
