Lillian Virginia Makarewicz of Davison, age 100, died Monday April 17, 2023 at her residence. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday June 30, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant, inurnment to follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to services with a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 12:15 pm at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Lillian’s memory to St. John Church Memorial Fund.
Lillian was born on September 5, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Kozlowski) Hritz and has resided in the Davison area the last thirty years. She was joined in marriage to Roman Joseph “Mack” Makarewicz on January 20, 1945 and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1988. Lillian proudly served in the US Navy during WW II, and a member of WAVE National. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison and the Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are children: David and wife Susan Makarewicz, Janis and husband Dan Greenlick, Cathleen and husband Phil Pingot, and Ellen Makarewicz. She also leaves her loving six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends’ .She is preceded in death by sister Dorothy Agnes Major, and brothers Joseph Robert Hritz and Donald Raymond Hritz.
