BESSAC, Lisa Michelle (Streit) – of Davison, MI, age 56, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, surrounded by a room full of family that loved her. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 AM until the time of Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffrey Slezak Scholarship or Timothy McComb Scholarship Funds, in Lisa’s memory.
Lisa was born in Flint, Michigan on April 5, 1967, daughter of Leon and Mary Ellen (Koenigsman) Streit. She married Mark Bessac on July 18, 1992. Lisa was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Lisa was so full of light and love. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She was a very generous caregiver for her father during his long illness and a main support for her mother after his passing. Lisa was always supportive, loving and kind. Lisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers and spent many weekends cheering on her teams with her family. She was selfless and always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her greatest joys in life were her children, Rob, Brooke (Koehn) and her husband, Mark, whom she loves more than anything. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Mark Bessac; children, Brooke (Koehn Kentish) and Rob; mother, Mary Ellen Streit; mother-in-law, Geri Bessac; siblings, Sue (Rick) Overman, David Streit, Janie McComb, Sandy (Rodney) Hake, Janelle (Jeff) Cusenza and Stephanie (Ken) Slezak; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by father, Leon Streit; father-in-law, Robert Bessac; brother-in-law, Timothy McComb; nephew, Jeffrey Slezak and infant sister, Elizabeth Streit.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU nurses at Ascension Genesys, Hayley and Alicia, for the special care given to Lisa.
