Mary Louise Moore

MOORE, Mary Louise (Jaroh) – of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Friday, August 11, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 11 AM-12 PM Friday, August 11, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in Mary’s memory.

Mary was born in Detroit, MI on May 1,1930, daughter of the late John and Lottie (Holly) Jaroh. She married Kenneth Moore on October 15, 1955 in Detroit, MI and he preceded her in death in 1986. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne University College (Wayne State University) in 1953. She started her teaching career in Detroit and Bendle Public Schools. Mary retired as a school teacher from Bentley Community Schools (Barhitte Elementary) after 31 years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Regina Coeli Circle Davison #1095, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and choir. Mary enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, bowling, fishing, gardening, music and family vacations.     

Mary is survived by her 7 loving children, Denise (William) Sokolowski, John (Debra) Moore, Kathleen (David) Fitts, Jeannine (Joseph) Oliverei, Colleen (Bud) Roblyer, Cheryl (Paul) Granger and Dr. Jeffrey Moore; 21 grandchildren, Aaron (Thomas Richards) Sokolowski, Brandon Sokolowski, Cameron (Elizabeth) Sokolowski, Charron Sokolowski, Hamilton Moore, Marshall Moore, Ciana Moore, Jennifer (Naoum) Tavantzis, Tyler Fitts, Devin Fitts, Angelia (Carl) Dixon, Ryan Oliverei, Anthony Oliverei, Miles (Cassandra) Roblyer, Cody (Amanda) Roblyer, Samantha (Austin) Hunter, Carly Granger, Megan Moore, Katie Moore, Allison Moore and Kenneth Moore; 10 great-grandchildren, Nathan Sokolowski, Dustin Sokolowski, Morgan Sokolowski, Parker Sokolowski, Catherine Sokolowski, Lillian Sokolowski, Nicholas Tavantzis, Cassandra Tavantzis, Lucas Tavantzis and Jett Hunter; many other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lottie Jaroh; husband, Kenneth Moore and brother, Dennis (Connie) Jaroh.
