Ray was born in Flint, MI on Easter Sunday morning, March 25, 1951, son of Betty (Mankowski) and the late Robert Owen. He married Roseann Horkey on July 26, 1980. Ray retired from General Motors in 2004 after 32 years of service with many memories of the people he met there. After retirement, Ray ran his own lawncare business until 2017. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with family and friends, U of M basketball and football. Ray was a basketball and football coach and mentor to several young men/athletes for many years. He had two goals this year, one was to vote in the election and the other was to see U of M play football. Ray was one of the most optimistic, charismatic, and encouraging men of all time. His glass was always half full. Everybody Loved Raymond.

He was the proudest, most loving father ever.

Ray is survived by his wife, Roseann Owen; son, Tony Owen; mother, Betty Owen; 6 siblings, Barbara (Roger) Narvesen, Michael (Lori) Owen, Jerry (Leslie) Owen, Bill (Kathy) Owen, Jim Owen and Rob (Shelly) Owen; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Owen; 2 brothers, Tom Owen and Dale Owen.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to special friends, Bruce and Cindy LaBrecque and Denny and Debbie Horkey for their love and support.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to The Cleveland Clinic, Heartland Hospice and Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski for their loving and compassionate care of Ray.
