David Robert Morgan of Burton & Davison, age 81, died Thursday July 19, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm Monday July 23, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 6340 Roberta Dr. Burton. Fr Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will be held at New Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 5 – 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. David will lie in state at the church from 2:00 pm Monday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in David’s memory to the Hurley Children’s Foundation.
Dave was born in Flint Michigan on June 19, 1937 the son of the late: Harry & Gertrude (Montgomery) Morgan and has resided in the area his entire life. He was joined in marriage to Bethany Safer on January 24, 1959. Answering the call of his country Dave served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was employed by General Motors Flint Metal Fab Division for over 45 years retiring in 2002. He also owned and operated with family Dave’s Collision for over fifty years until his recent retirement.
Surviving is wife Bethany, his children; Mark & Tammy Morgan, Bob & Darlene Morgan, Don Morgan, and his seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers; John Morgan, Dennis Morgan, sister Linda Pethers, Marilyn (Ray) Fournier, Marion (Jim) Arnold, and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his baby twins Tina Marie, Scott David, son Craig, brothers Joe, Tom, Mike, and sister Nancy Turnbull.
