Robert (Bob) was born in Flint, MI on August 26, 1936, the son of Bill (Donna) Campeau and Jessie (Thompson) Campeau. He married Jacqueline M. Nero on April 12, 1958. Bob was a hard-working, loving husband and family man and together they raised four children. He enjoyed a lifelong career in the finance and insurance business. When they weren’t doting on their grandchildren, Bob and Jackie enjoyed spending their golden years in the Florida sunshine. Bob was beloved by his community and had a zest for life. He was a lover of the great outdoors, always finding time to golf, hunt, fish, camp, travel, or take a golf cart ride to say hello to the neighborhood. He was an amazing Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always made time to support them throughout their lives. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His kindness extended to anyone in need; he would give the shirt off his back and never knew a stranger.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert Campeau Jr., Jeff Campeau, Dawn Campeau Reyes, Daniel Campeau; sister, Marita Vasquez; sister-in-law Diana Nero Schaefer; eight grandchildren, Robert (Erica), Sarah (Michael), Andrew, Shannon, Anthony (Paige), Jacob, Lillie, Maggie; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and William, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends, as well his loving partner for the last thirteen years, Sandy Probst. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline Campeau, his beloved in-laws, Samuel and Marion Nero, and brothers-in-law Ruben Vasquez and Joseph Schaefer.
His lively spirit, witty charm, and warm, giving heart will be missed by many. “May the beer always be cold in heaven.”
