MOREY, Martin “Marty” Louis – of Davison, MI, age 67, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors 11:30 AM-1 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care or the American Cancer Society, in Marty’s memory.

Marty was born in Flint, MI on September 8, 1958, son of the late Herman and Helen (Klocko) Morey. He was a proud graduate of Kearsley High School, Class of 1976. Following graduation, he attended the police academy, demonstrating early on his desire to serve and protect his community. On July 9, 1988, Marty married the love of his life, Cathy McDevitt. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their years together were filled with cherished memories and a partnership that was an inspiration to all who knew them. Marty was employed as a bus driver for the Mass Transportation Authority, where he became a familiar and friendly face to countless passengers. Known for his reliability, warm smile, and genuine kindness, Marty took great pride in serving his community. He formed meaningful connections along his routes, brightening the days of those who stepped onto his bus. A devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Marty lived his faith quietly but faithfully, serving as an usher and a member of the St. John Men’s Club. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures – preparing meals to share with loved ones, camping beneath the open sky, and spending peaceful hours hunting and fishing. Whether gathered around a glowing campfire or seated together at the kitchen table, Marty was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Above all else, Marty treasured time spent with those he loved. His warmth, generosity, steady presence, and gentle spirit created lasting memories that will be held close in the hearts of many. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family, his cherished kitty, Bella, and his many dear friends.

Marty is survived by his wife, Cathy Morey; 2 daughters, Tonya Morey and Mary (Jon) Hemme; 2 brothers, Jim (JoAnn) Morey and Mike Morey; special cousins, Daniel (Barbara) Klocko; sister-in-law, Dr. Patty McGarry; many other loving family members and good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Helen Morey; 2 brothers, John Morey and Bob Morey.
