Solanus Casey Center Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred place in which to travel and get closer to God. Our Parish is embarking on a day pilgrimage to the Solanus Casey Center in Detroit, which is a designated pilgrimage site for this Jubilee Year.
• Saturday, May 31st. Leave St. John on a chartered bus at 9:00 a.m., return by 4:00 p.m.
• Cost $40.00 per adult, $20.00 for students 17 and under.
• Space limited to 55 people. To register and make payment, see Alex in the Parish Office.

Day includes guided tour of the Center, Mass in the Chapel, lunch, free time for browsing the gift shop
and/or Sunrise Bakery, prayer time at the tomb of Blessed Solanus Casey, a walk in the outdoor garden
and the opportunity to go to Confession.

Blessed Solanus Casey is on the path to sainthood. His story is simple and remarkable and takes place in
Detroit. On May 31st, the Church celebrates the feast of the Visitation, when Mary traveled to the hill
country to visit her cousin Elizabeth. The two women had an encounter with Jesus in Mary’s womb. How
appropriate that we will travel on May 31st on a pilgrimage to seek an encounter with Jesus through the holy life of Blessed Solanus Casey!
