MOREY, Cathy Lee (McDevitt) – of Davison, MI, age 70, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County, 2005 East Copas Road, Owosso, MI 48867, in Cathy’s memory.
Cathy was born in Flint, MI on February 9, 1956, daughter of the late Donald and Janet (Lindsay) McDevitt. Cathy was a graduate of Hamady High School Class of 1974. She married the love of her life, Marty Morey, on July 9, 1988. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2026. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their years together were filled with cherished memories and a partnership that was an inspiration to all who knew them. A devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, she lived her faith quietly but faithfully, serving in the church choir. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures –sharing time with loved ones, camping beneath the open sky, and spending peaceful times fishing. Whether reading stories while gathered around the fire, or sitting together at the kitchen table, Cathy was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Above all else, Cathy treasured time spent with those that she loved. She will be deeply missed by her beloved family, her cherished kitty, Bella, and her many dear friends.
Cathy is survived by her 2 daughters, Tonya (Jesse Gerweck) Morey and Mary (Jon) Hemme; brother, Doug (Sue) McDevitt; beloved cat, Bella; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Janet McDevitt and her husband, Marty Morey.
