Angela Janice Martin, of Goodrich, MI, died Thursday, March 27, 2025 at home surrounded by family after bravely battling lung cancer. She was born April 12,1949 to Salvatore and Angeline (Cera) Palazzolo in Detroit, MI, and enjoyed spending time with her 5 siblings and playing many different sports. Angela attended Sacred Heart High School before studying Nursing at the University of Michigan.
She was a devoted mother to Barb Martin, Rick Martin, Jeff Martin, and Jim Martin, whom she loved dearly. She took special joy in attending and volunteering at their various athletic and extracurricular events and cheered them on enthusiastically.
Angela had unwavering faith and always supported the Catholic Church. She served as choir director of St. Mark’s in Goodrich, MI for several years. Later, she supported and attended St. John the Evangelist in Davison, MI. She also found great joy in traveling and taking many photos along the way. Angela maintained close relationships with each of her siblings, many cousins, and multiple close friends, no matter how far away they lived or how seldom they were able to see each other in person.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Angeline Palazzolo, and brother-in-law, Kevin Miller. She is survived by her siblings, Kathy Palazzolo-Miller, Gerald (Carol) Palazzolo, Diane (Patrick) Palazzolo-Mann, Celia (David) Johnson, and Celeste (Susan Richards) Palazzolo, children, Barbara Martin, Richard (Kristina) Martin, Jeffrey (Heather) Martin, and James (Melissa) Martin, and many loving nieces and nephews. Her five grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Grace, Samantha, and Liam, were her pride and joy. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them and continued the tradition of supporting them in their hobbies and academic pursuits.
A mass of resurrection will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (404 Dayton St., Davison) followed by a ceremony at St. John Cemetery (corner of N. Oak and E. Richfield Rds, Davison), and a luncheon, held at St. John’s Small Activity Room (505 N. Dayton Street, Davison). Donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name are appreciated.
