Bina was born in Monreale, Sicily, Italy on March 21, 1953, the daughter of the late Isidore and Rosalia Anselmo. On June 10, 1974, she married Aniello “Neal” Romano in Ortonville, Michigan, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family. Bina had a gift for cooking and baking, which she shared generously with those she loved. She enjoyed tending to her garden, where she found joy and peace in caring for her flowers and plants. Her greatest happiness, however, came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. For many years, Bina worked as a cook at Hill Elementary, where she delighted in preparing meals and sharing smiles with the children. Her kindness, warmth, and loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Bina is survived by her husband of 51 years, Aniello “Neal”; children: Giovanni (Gabrielle) Romano and Roberto Romano; grandchildren: Leonardo “Leo” Romano, Aria Romano, Axel Romano, Benson Romano, Elijah Gillett, and Eden Gillett; siblings: Salvatore (Miledy) Anselmo, Anna Maria Jerke, Gaetano (Karen) Anselmo, Edward (Heidi) Anselmo, Vincenza (John) Kincaid, Francesca (Vince) Bontumasi, Josephine Bostwick, Margherita Woods, and Patrizia (Tony) D’Agostino; sister-in-law from Italy, Chiara Romano and family, Felicia Romano and family; brother-in-law from Italy, Giovanni Romano and family; several nieces and nephews; many other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Residential Home Health & Hospice for their continuous care and comfort of Bina, and to her sister Francesca and brother-in-law Vince for dedicated care and support.
