Debra Ann Morris, a loving and cherished mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on February 1, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, Debra lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering support for those around her.
Debra was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness. Her door was always open, and her heart even more so. She poured her love into her family, finding her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, and her passion for garage sales, thrifting, and visits to the casino always brought a smile to her face. A devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, Debra never missed an opportunity to cheer on her team.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas Morris; her daughter, Heather Bateman; and her daughter-in-law, Katie Bateman. Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Lukas, Kelley, Benny, Little Neal, David, James, Hunter, and Blaze. Debra is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and a host of dear friends and loved ones, including Nick and Karla Williams and Bobbi Webster-Rettelle. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Debra was preceded in death by her beloved son, Billy Bateman; her mother, Oma Warden; her father, Roy Hetherington; and her late husband, Douglas Coolich.

A Rosary Service will be held this Friday, May 9th, at 12:30 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., located at 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI. A celebration of life luncheon will take place immediately after at MD’s Tavern, 3020 N. State Rd., Davison, MI. All family and friends are warmly welcome to attend.
