MOSIER, Dolores “Dee” Mae (Lancto) – of Davison, MI, age 94, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, and friend to all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment immediately following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-12 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Dee’s memory.
Dee was born in Flint, MI on January 18, 1930, daughter of the late Arthur and Julia (White) Lancto. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, warmth, and generosity. Dee was a proud graduate of Davison High School Class of 1948 and an honors graduate of Cleary College Class of 1951, where she received the Arthur E. Summerfield Award as Cleary’s Woman Graduate of the Year. After graduating high school, Dee worked as a secretary and office manager at the National Biscuit Company in Flint, MI. Following graduation from Cleary College, she was employed by General Motors as a secretary in Accounts Payable until 1961. On June 13, 1953, Dee married the love of her life, Charles B. Mosier, in Flint, MI. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership that lasted for nearly 69 years, until his passing on March 10, 2022. Dee’s love for Charles remained an enduring source of strength and joy in her life. Dee was a Board Member and past Treasurer of the Genesee County Bar Association Auxiliary and a member and volunteer at the Davison/Richfield Senior Citizen’s Center. A lifelong member and volunteer greeter of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Dee’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She lived out her values of compassion, kindness, and devotion in everything she did, and her deep connection to her church community was evident to all who knew her. Dee’s passions were many. She found peace in sewing, a craft she perfected with time and love. She treasured the time spent at their family cottage in Port Austin, MI, a place where she created lasting memories with her family. Dee’s greatest joy was found in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she relished every moment spent in their presence. She was also known for her culinary talents, delighting in preparing meals that brought loved ones together. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be greatly missed by all. May she rest in peace, forever surrounded by the love and grace she so freely gave throughout her life.
Dee is survived by her son, Mark Mosier; daughter-in-law, Paula Mosier; 9 grandchildren, Melissa (John Hayden III) Tate, Karri (Mark) Whiteman, Allison (Zach) Frey, Lindsey (Rob) Youness, Matthew (Angela) Mosier, Travis (Lacey) Mosier, Michael (Kelsey) Mosier, Trevor (Emily) Mosier and Callie Mosier; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Dr. Claudia (J) Mosier and Shari (Bill) Polli; brother-in-law, Fred Wolff; several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Julia Lancto; husband, The Honorable Judge Charles B. Mosier; son, Matthew C. Mosier; brother, Ron (Beverly) Lancto and sister-in-law, Suzanne Wolff.
The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hampton Manor of Montrose, especially Dawn Houck, R.N., for the loving and compassionate care Dee received during her final days. Their kindness and support brought Dee and her family comfort and peace during this time.
