GEIGER, Donald – of Davison, age 84, passed away on February 6, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 PM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Interment will take place following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Christian Service.
Don was born in Ruth, MI on May 31, 1940, son of the late Clement and Elizabeth (Volmering) Geiger. He married Margaret “Maggie” Scanlon on December 16,1988. Together they shared countless cherished memories of travel with friends and family for 36 years. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2024. Don retired from General Motors V8 Engine Plant in 1998 as a Journeyman Millwright. He loved gardening and supplying everyone he could with his vegetables. Don was an extremely great father, enjoyed camping, hunting, and watching his Michigan sport teams. He loved golfing with his family and being a snowbird in Bradenton, Florida.
Don is survived by his children, Doug (Bridget) Geiger, Michael Geiger, Lori (Roger) Burgess, Mark (Sandy) Geiger, Cheryl (Brian) Beckley, Chris (Angela) Larner and Teresa (Dan) Leming; 20 grandchildren, Kyle (Allyssa) Geiger, Mackenzie Geiger, Ethan Geiger, Tyler Gavarinski, Delaney Geiger, Rebecca (Ronnie) Geiger-Younger, Taylor (T.J.) VanKeuren, Quintin Burgess, Jonathan Geiger, David Geiger, Thomas Geiger Samantha Beckley, Cassandra (Rex) Odden, Lindsey Beckley, Jeffrey Larner, Casey Larner, Emma Larner, Lauren Leming, Sidney Leming and Sophia Leming; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Gerald (Shirley) Geiger, Richard (Norma) Geiger, Jean Geiger, Kenneth (Carolyn) Geiger, Ruth Ann (Joseph) Kucharczyk, Cornelius (Carolyn) Geiger and David (Hazel) Geiger; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Herb. The family would like give a special thank you to MaryEllen Kreucher-Carritti and St. John Church.
