Rafael “Ralph” Arceo of Davison age 86 died Wednesday December 3, 2025 at McLaren-Flint surrounded by his family. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00pm Tuesday December 9, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski Celebrant, with private inurnment at St. John Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors Monday December 8, 2025 from 3:00-7:00pm at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm Monday at the funeral home. Ralph will lie in state from 12:00noon Tuesday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. John Memorial Fund in Ralph’s memory.
Ralph was born in Flint, Michigan on November 24, 1939 the son of the late Rafael and Fermina (Martinez) Arceo and has resided in the Davison area for many years. Answering the call of his country Ralph served in the Navy and the Michigan National Guard from 1974-1999. He dedicated his life to ensuring public safety as a State Inspector on elevators and was a proud member of the union. Ralph was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He proudly served on the Davison City Council from 2005-2007, including a term as Mayor Pro Tem from 2006-2007. His dedication to civic duty was further evidenced by his service on many municipal committees.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Michael and wife Judy Arceo, Anne and husband Mike McDonald, and Lisa and husband Jason Miller; grandchildren: Brandon and wife Alexis McDonald, Jillian Arceo, Mathew McDonald, Jennifer and husband Christopher Judd, Fallon, and Killian Simpson; great grandchildren: Megan, Josh, Katie, Nick, Rowen, and Ella; his siblings: David Arceo, Nancy Foley; sister in law: Margaret Arceo; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
