Betty Ann Van Beers

VAN BEERS, Betty Anne Yezbick (Angeli) – of Daytona Beach, Florida, age 96, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Inurnment will immediately follow the Mass at St. John Catholic Cemetery, corner of Richfield and N. Oak Rd in Davison. The family will receive visitors at the church 30 minutes before the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food For the Poor (www.foodforthepoor.org) in Betty’s memory.

Betty was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 20, 1928, daughter of the late Henry and Adeline (Ciagne) Angeli. Betty was an active member of several Catholic Churches:  St. Joseph, Lake Orion, Michigan; St. John the Evangelist, Davison, Michigan; and Holy Spirit, Lake Wales, Florida. She enjoyed music, dancing, and skating; she loved flying, traveling, swimming, canoeing, boating, and interior design. She loved her family and dogs, especially her precious pets Puff Anne and Lizzie. She played trumpet in her high school marching band, worked on the school newspaper, wrote weekly articles published in the Lake Orion Review newspaper, produced bulletins for the church, and led multiple religious instruction programs. She took college classes on interior design to enhance her joy of decorating her home. She volunteered for many church functions, Meals on Wheels, and the Civil Air Patrol as a radio operator and member of the flight team search and rescue.

Betty is survived by 3 children, Gail McClung, David (Dianne) Yezbick, and Gary (Denise) Yezbick; son-in-law, Harry Crowe; sister, Barbara Angeli; 11 grandchildren: Stephanie Rassier (Kurt) Kocik, Meaghan Crowe (Josh) Reiser, Ryan (Melissa) Crowe, Gerry (Erin) Yezbick, Michelle Yezbick (Brad) Norman, Joseph Yezbick, Timothy (Michelle) Yezbick, Julia Yezbick (Ben Gaydos), Lewis Yezbick, Ryat Yezbick, and Gabrielle Yezbick (Stephen Norman); 23 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Daniel Van Beers and Chris Van Beers; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Adeline Angeli; sister, Gloria Angeli Wiggins; brothers, Henry Angeli, Jr. and Thomas Angeli; daughter, Sharon Yezbick Crowe (2021); husband, Lewis J. Yezbick (1996), and husband, Peter W. Van Beers (2018).
