BARRY, Deborah K. (Fletcher) – of Lapeer, MI, age 55, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday, June 29, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Inurnment immediately following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-12 PM Saturday, June 29, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in Debbie’s memory. 

 

Debbie was born in Bennington, Vermont on February 24, 1969, daughter of the late Robert and Sharon (Brown) Fletcher. On May 22, 2014, Debbie married Patrick Barry in Clarkston, MI. As a cherished member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she contributed passionately to preserving the heritage and history of our nation. Her commitment to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church was a testament to her strong faith and spiritual devotion. Debbie was widely known as an avid reader and writer of children’s books, captivating young minds with her imaginative tales and nurturing a love for literature in countless children. Her dedication to crafting stories that sparked curiosity and joy will forever be cherished by those who had the pleasure of reading her work. Beyond her literary pursuits, Debbie was a devoted enthusiast of history and archaeology. Her deep appreciation for the past enriched her life and inspired many around her to delve into the mysteries of ancient civilizations. Debbie’s enthusiasm for learning and sharing her knowledge created a lasting impact on all who knew her. 

 

Debbie is survived by her husband, Patrick Barry; 2 sons, Tommy Palmer and Robby Palmer; sister, Patty (Ted) MacLaughlin; step-father, Doug Steimle; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Steimle and father, Robert Fletcher.
