GALLAGHER, Michael F. “Mike” – of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Davison, MI, age 72, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held 12 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Inurnment, with Military Honors, will take place following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Friday, August 9, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM on Friday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in Mike’s memory.
Mike was born in Croswell, MI on August 13, 1951, son of the late Kenneth and Madeline (Hurley) Gallagher. He proudly served in the United States Army. On August 23, 1985, Mike married Katherine Benjamin. He retired from Buick in 2006 after 37 years of service. Mike was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the UAW Local #599 and Davison VFW Post #4087. Mike will be forever loved and missed dearly every day.
Michael is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughters, Stacy “Gert” (NaTasha) Houghtaling and Stacey (Adam) Knag; granddaughter, Madison; grandson, Ian; sisters, Vickie (Dennis) Robertson and Sharon (Bruce) Fenner; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Madeline Gallagher; son, Michael Houghtaling.
