Paul Michael Mendryga, born on April 22, 1983, passed away on May 13, 2026, Paul lived life marked by his Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, by his kindness, adventure, and passion, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Paul was the kind of man who reminded others that life is not meant to be merely endured, but fully lived. He carried himself with a steady spirit and a generous heart, and he had a way of making people feel encouraged simply by being present. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his determination, and the quiet strength that made him someone others could count on. He lived with purpose, and he met each day with a willingness to work hard, explore boldly, and appreciate the beauty in ordinary moments.
He graduated from LakeVille High School in 2002, and from there he built a life defined by skill, dedication, and a strong work ethic. As a Master Builder, Paul took pride in creating with his hands and shaping work that reflected his standards and care. He understood that building was more than a trade. It was a calling that required patience, vision, and commitment. Whether he was working on a project or sharing his knowledge with others, he brought excellence and pride to everything he did. His work stood as a reflection of who he was, dependable, capable, and deeply invested in doing things the right way. Paul also lived with a spirit of adventure that made his life rich and memorable.
Paul was an avid disc golf player, he enjoyed the challenge, focus, and camaraderie that came with the game. He found peace and joy in fishing, kayaking, and morel hunting where he could be close to nature and embrace the calm and excitement that the outdoors offered. He had a gift for photography, always seeming to find himself in the right place at the right time, capturing God’s Great Glory in a sunrise or sunset which he shared with friends and family.
Paul is survived by his parents, David and Debbie, his brothers, Matthew and his wife Claire, and James and his fiancé Shannon, his life companion, Lil Deb, his constant companion, his dog Sugar. and his close friend, Adam. He was preceded in death by his Papa and Grandma Ptak, as well as his Noni and Nono Mendryga, Uncle Lenny Mendryga, friend Wendy Avram, and Ray Tweedly. The bonds of family and friendship were important to him, and he carried those relationships with love and loyalty throughout his life. He was a son, a brother, a companion, and a friend whose presence brought comfort and whose memory will remain a source of strength.
A memorial mass will be held 1:00 PM on June 1, 2026 at St John Catholic Church – Davison. Paul will be laid to rest in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Columbiaville. Arrangements were entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville. No donations needed. We just ask that you plant a tree, pick a morel, catch a fish, throw a disk or take a picture in his memory.
