George Snyder

SNYDER, George – of Davison, age 75, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at McLaren – Flint. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will welcome visitors from 12 PM until the time of the Mass on Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in George’s memory.

George was born in Flint, MI on September 5, 1948, son of the late Raymond Gustaf Snyder and Althea Elloise (Gocha) Snyder. He married Barbara Jean Bisaha on May 14, 1971. He spent his career in finance with the banks, car dealerships and retired after working in mortgage banking. George was an avid fly fisherman and member of Trout Unlimited. A talented wood worker demonstrating his craft with gifts that he created for his family and dear friends. It was common to find George practicing a new technique to finish a wood project, or his casts in the yard when he wasn’t in a river. He enjoyed bird watching and loved the Bird Buddy that his daughters bought him for Father’s Day – connecting him with bird watchers around the world. George was proud  and loved his daughters, their accomplishments were his pride and joy. He cherished his relationship with his two grandsons. George and Barbara loved to travel together, having a final adventure to Europe this past March adding to their memories. 

George is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Amanda (Brad) Snyder-Keller and Sarah (David) Parker; grandchildren, Luke Turner, and Jackson Keller; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; his mother, Althea; and brother, Michael Snyder.
