GONZALEZ, Alice Lenore (Perez) – of Davison, MI, age 81, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Monday, June 10, 2024 and 11 AM-7 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 12-1 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute, in Alice’s memory. 

 

Alice was born in Ann Arbor, MI on March 1, 1943, daughter of the late Ricardo and Adelia (Molina) Perez. She was a proud graduate of Dye High School, Class of 1961, and later pursued her education at Mott Community College. Throughout her life, Alice dedicated over 20 years of service to AC Delco, where she retired with fond memories and cherished friendships. On October 26, 1963, Alice Perez married Pedro Gonzalez Jr. at the original site of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Carpenter Road in Flint, MI. Finding solace and strength in her faith, Alice was a devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and later attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Alice’s vibrant spirit was evident in her diverse interests and talents. She was a member of The Foresters and enjoyed pursuits such as sewing, quilting, ceramics, cake decorating, painting, and martial arts, holding a black belt in Sanchin-Ryu Karate. Her love for movement extended to line dancing, Tai-Chi and the joy of walking. Family was at the heart of Alice’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their laughter and milestones. Alice was deeply committed to her role as a mother and grandmother, finding fulfillment in nurturing and guiding her loved ones. She found pleasure in the simple joys of life, whether it was bowling with friends, exploring culinary delights in the kitchen, or getting lost in the pages of a good book. Alice treasured every opportunity to create lasting memories surrounding holidays, birthday parties, family vacations and especially sharing shopping adventures with her daughters. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, boundless energy, creativity, and dedication to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

 

Alice is survived by her husband of 61 years, Pedro Gonzalez Jr.; 3 children, Rebecca (Joseph) Tibbetts, Laura (Thomas) Krellwitz and Ricardo (Holly) Gonzalez; 8 grandchildren, Randi Dickerson, Cody Dickerson, Christina Tibbetts, Joseph (Emily Kirven) Richards, Andrea (Alex Lincoln) Richards, Madeline Krellwitz, Krystal (Kent McPeters) Gonzalez and Ricardo Gonzalez Jr.; 2 great-grandsons, Jackson and Grant Lincoln; 3 siblings, Virginia (Tino) Flores, Lydia Caballero and Esther Stewart; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Adelia Perez and brother-in-law, Jose Caballero.
