Warren Carto

CARTO, Warren L. – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away on June 5, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 PM Monday, June 10, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. The family will receive visitors 2-6 PM Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan High School Athletic Association or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Warren was born in Flint, MI on October 8, 1935, son of the late Elwood and Aili (Linna) Carto. He married MaryJane Griffin on July 10, 1954, at St. Mary’s in Flint and she preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage on October 11, 2018. Warren was a dedicated employee, working for AC Spark Plug for 37 years. He had a passion for golf and was very loyal, golfing with the same partner, Jerry, for over 50 years.  Warren was recognized by the MHSAA for his 24 years of service officiating high school football and basketball games.  He enjoyed many years spending time at Houghton Lake with his HOTONA family and friends.  Warren and MaryJane also enjoyed wintering in Florida.  Above all else, Warren was fiercely dedicated to his family, always there for his children and grandchildren.

Warren is survived by his children, Daniel (Jill) Carto, Thomas Carto, Sandra (Timothy) Goyette and Bryan (Erica) Carto; grandchildren, Sandra Sawyer, Amanda (Matthew) Carto-Kessler, Andrew (Brigitta) Carto, Amy (Jeffery) Quiring, Tara Carto, Kayla Carto, Russell Barry, Warren Barry, Thomas Barry, Bryan Barry, Richard (Kristen) Goyette and Lucas (Samantha) Goyette; great-grandchildren, Destiny Brown, Lyric Barry, Emma Goyette, Lyla Goyette, Oliver Goyette, Millie Goyette, Julian Carto and Genevieve Carto; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Warren was preceded in death by his daughters, Lynn Watkins and Lisa Barry; grandson, Travis Carto and great-grandchild Preston Barry.
