Anthony Lajewski

Anthony Paul Lajewski, age 76, of Lapeer, died Sunday March 24, 2024. He was born July 21, 1947 in Flint, to Anthony and Joann (Michailo) Lajewski.

Tony graduated in 1965 from Mt. Morris High School, he often enjoyed getting together for lunch with many of his fellow alumni. Mr. Lajewski proudly volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. Tony was stationed in Vietnam for more than one year and earned the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. On May 20, 1972 he married the love of his life, Mary Jo Reuther, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton. Tony retired from GM Buick Motor Plant in Flint, he started out in the Foundry and was promoted to Quality Control. Mr. and Mrs. Lajewski were longtime members of Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer and attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Davison.

Tony was an avid reader, he especially enjoyed Sci-Fi and Fantasy. He was an excellent amateur photographer and was computer savvy starting very early on in his life. Tony always liked to watch movies, whether at the movie theater or at home. He also enjoyed music of all genres (including Old Motown and Classic Rock-n-Roll), he had a great sense of humor and loved to vacation and go on cruises with Mary Jo. Tony was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, actually he loved food whether eating out or at home. Everyone was welcome at Mary Jo and Tony’s home, they just loved family! Tony was a loyal husband, father, son and brother!

Tony is survived by his son: Brad Lajewski of Lapeer; daughter-in-law: Theresa Lajewski of Lapeer; grandchildren: Anthony, Lydia, Thomas, Nicholas, Noah, Claire and John; siblings: Marcia Bobeda of DeWitt and Lynette (Bruce) Allen of Haslett; sister-in-law: Dawn Lajewski of Brown City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donna Whalen of Flint, William Reuther of Manistee, Theresa (Donald) Simon of Davison, James (Sharon) Reuther of Davison, Sharon (Patrick) Hladik of Flushing and Karen (Matthew) Crown of Metamora; many many nieces & nephews; and his loyal dog who went with him everywhere: Buster. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Jo Lajewski; son: Todd Lajewski: granddaughter: Anna Lajewski; parents: Tony and Joann Lajewski; brother: Michael Lajewski; and in-laws: Donald and Colette Reuther.

Visitation will be 4-8PM Monday, April 1, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The rosary will be prayed 7PM Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held 1PM Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, Michigan 48423. Father Andrew Czajkowski will celebrate the Mass. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Tuesday. Final interment will be in Mt. Loretto Cemetery in Lapeer, followed by military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
