GORBUTT, Dennis – of Turner, MI, age 70, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 6, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta Street, Burton, MI 48509; Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, attention Lori Burger, in Dennis’ memory.
Dennis was born in Flint, MI on December 12, 1953, son of late Ralph and Ruby (Payne) Gorbutt. He married Laurie Brown on April 25, 1975. Dennis attended Bentley High School. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament and a Boy Scout Master for several years. Dennis enjoyed everything outdoors with his family and friends. His greatest accomplishment was raising three Eagle Scouts, his sons. Dennis worked at General Motors Truck and bus for 35 years, retiring in 2007.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; children, Jack (Tausha Koenders) Gorbutt, Mark Gorbutt and Adam (Rebecca) Gorbutt; grandchildren, Rachell (Bill), Andrew, Zachary and Hadley; sister, Deanna Gorbutt; mother-in-law, Joan Brown; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Sharon Bunker.
