Eric Schroeder

SCHROEDER, Eric – of Davison, MI, age 56, passed away on February 7, 2024.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Thursday, February 15, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 12-3 and 4-8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. There will be two hours of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison-Richfield Fire Department Association, GFHA Youth Hockey Crystal Field House of Burton or plant a tree in memory of Eric, at a location of your choice. The family kindly asks that everyone attending the Mass on Thursday, February 15, 2024 to wear something that you associate with Eric. Hockey jerseys, camouflage and University of Michigan apparel are all welcome. Eric doesn’t care how you dress as he accepted and loved everybody.

Eric was born in Flint, MI on September 17, 1967, son of the late Allan Joseph and Sharon Lee (Morse) Schroeder. He married Andrea Kitchen on April 24, 1992, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Eric worked at Hank Graff Chevrolet from 1986 – 2006, working as a mechanic for 13 years, then sold cars for 7 years. He began his career at Mersino’s in 2006 as a Logistics Manager. Eric honorably worked for the Davison Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as a battalion chief on November 15, 2018. One of Eric’s many loves were playing hockey, hunting with his family and friends, camping, being outdoors and traveling. Eric loved people and was known for being the life of the party. He was dedicated, hardworking and never turned down a meal, as everyone knew he loved food!

Eric is survived by his wife, Andrea; children, Kyle and Emily; siblings, Celeste (Carl) Zipperer, Devin (Carrie) Schroeder, Mark (Chris) Schroeder; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Tess.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to everyone who loved and supported Eric during his courageous fight with cancer. He inspired many with his positive attitude and beautiful smile. #schroederstrong
