REUTHER, Michael J. – Of Davison, age 73, died Friday, March 15, 2024.

Visitation 4-8pm Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A memorial service by the Knights of Columbus, Father Louis Gauthier Council 10170 will be held at 6:30pm Monday followed by a Rosary that will be prayed at 7pm at the funeral home. Visitation 12pm Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison,

Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on March 11, 1951 the son of the late Donald and Colette (Root) Reuther. Michael graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic High School, Class of 1970. Michael was employed by General Motors and enjoyed drafting and design. He was an active member of the UAW. Michael was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison and Knights of Columbus Louis Gauthier Council 10170. Michael was an active Knights of Columbus member where he became a 3rd Degree member in April, 1997. Shortly thereafter in April 1999, he was admitted to the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was faithfully active in the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard serving throughout the greater Diocese of Lansing and specifically the Genesee County region of the Diocese. Michael was a fixture at the Knights of Columbus Friday fish fries and the annual summer festival chicken dinners. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, skiing, going up north to the family cabin, watching sports: basketball, football, especially U of M, attending baseball games and spending time with his family. 

Surviving are siblings, Donna M. Whalen (Reuther), William H. Reuther, Theresa C. (Donald) Simon, James B. (Sharon) Reuther, Sharon K. (Patrick) Hladik, Kevin (Reuther) Wilson, and Karen A. (Matthew) Crown;

Nieces and nephews, Brad Lajewski, Brian Reuther, Erin Lesner, Susan Whalen, Julie McAlister, Michael Whalen, Bridget Reuther, Olivia Reuther, Ryan Hladik, Joseph Hladik, Joseph Crown, Sarah Crown, Melissa Crown, Hannah Crown and Chad Simon.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Lajewski (Reuther), nephews, Todd M. Lajewski and Matthew F. Whalen.

The family would like to thank Michael J. Kotarski for the giving of his time and love and praying prayers of comfort with our brother, Michael.
